CDJ 800: Know the details better

The CDJ 800 which has also been known as the Mark-1 after the 2nd version had been released. This is basically a type of turn-table made by the Pioneer-Electronics having design which is very much similar to that of CDJ 1000. There are few differences between them when one moves the aspect of the ‘gun-metal-finish’. Read on folks to know more about it.

This CDJ 800 can be described as a vinyl –turntable stimulator which has the ability to play audio CDs. CDJ 800 has basically two different types of modes for the interaction purpose, namely the Vinyl-mode and the CD-Mode. The Vinyl mode can be described as the one which allows the platter to act like the vinyl where the user would be able to easily manipulate the music which is being played just like the vinyl record. The next is the CD-mode which allows the user to increase as well as decrease the speed of the music in gradual increments.

The CDJ 800 uses a mechanism which is different from the CDJ 1000 with respect to the jog-wheel. The basic purpose of designing this CDJ800 was to allow the DJs with the jog-facility present on the night clubs present on the CDJ 1000 at lesser prices. The same has been introduced in the year 2002, but was taken away from the markets in the year 2006 once the next version called the CDJ-800-MK2 was launched. The basic difference which lies in both this CDJ-800 and CDJ 800 –MK2 is that the latter is also able to play the Mp3 files from the CD‘s.

CDJ-800 CD-Turntable provides with many other features which are also present in the CDJ 1000 but at a lowered price range making it the ideal choice for those who are looking to avail the same at a cheaper option. This CDJ 800 has the same type of turn-table-like features like what is present in the CDJ 1000 having the platter which can be manipulated and the easily programmable cue-points. But there are also few basic chief differences which lie between them. Let’s analyze them briefly:-

To start with, CDJ-800 is unable to store the cue-information within the permanent memory, secondly it also does not have the hot-cue and the lock-CD function.  In CDJ- 800, one can avail 10% (increase or decrease), and 1000% (increase / decrease) in the pitch controls, but in CDJ 1000, one can find that it has about ‘-/+ six, ten, sixteen, and twenty four percents. Next, the CDJ-800 does not have the metal-buttons which are present in the 1000 version. Moreover the reverse-function is controlled by the button and not by a switch. It also does not have a WAV –Data-memory. The touch or the Release and the break or the start controls also do not have any separate –controls. The reverse function which is present is also controlled by a button and not by a switch. Apart from this it also has few conspicuous features like the ‘Quick-return’, ‘auto-beat-loop’, ‘wide-pitch-control’, etc.
